Yeah, I'm preparing to spread wide in May & take it like a man, too. I feel like an abused housewife simpering, "But he promised me he won' hit me no more, officer!"

The sad thing is that while watching that collection of trailers, I identified the one that made it least look like it was going to suck, and just watched it a few more times. "But officer, he can give me some of that sweet lovin' when he wants."

"Naw, officer, he ain't abusin' me none. All that 'Dark Side of the Force' stuff is just 'cause he likes ta talk kinda dirty when he does it."

So, was the good trailer the one that starts off with Palpatine talking about how some consider the dark side to be...unnatural? That's the one that broke down my resistance.

That's the one.

My resistance was holding OK until about halfway through when they go into this rapid montage of nondescript action sequences, each punctuated by the music and a fade to black between each one. It's followed by Palpatine telling Anakin "Every single Jedi is now an enemy of the Republic. Do what must be done. Do no hestitate. Show no mercy."

After that, I was just melted. The feeling of loss and destruction was complete. It reminds me of the dread I felt building in the B5 universe when I saw the storm coming in season 5 and looked ahead to see the episode title: "All My Dreams Torn Asunder."

Lucas gives good trailer - no question. I just went squee with my girly scream when I got to see Palpatine be evil & let McDiarmid start chewing scenery. That's the stuff I've been waiting for.
