Miers Withdraws

Harriet Miers has withdrawn from the Supreme Court nomination process. As I've said before, I thought she was a poor choice due to her lack of judge-experience. Hopefully, we will not repeat the folly that caused this experiment in the first place, i.e. the Senate suggestions that we needed a fresh perspective on the Court.

Of course the excuse for her withdrawing was pretty lame and transparent. At this point Bush needed a reason badly to have her withdraw. Using the "I won't turn over white house documents" as the reason is a joke. The only positive thing that Miers nomination did was scare the hell out of the right almost as much as it did everyone else. That alone almost made her go up a few notches in my opinion.
