Refuge

I've done a lot of simple pinups recently, and mostly that was just because, well, ok, a lot was because I'm a guy, but also because it made learning various technical aspects of the tools easier without a lot of other things getting in the way. But anyway, here's one that's a bit more complicated.

We all need a place of refuge, where we can retreat for a moment of peace, hidden away from the rest of the world. We don't go there nearly often enough.

I like it a lot, especially the shadows.

I think her right arm (the one closer to us) is in an awkward position, though.

Nice work as usual.

Her right arm looks ok to me, but I think she's too reflective or something. she should be more dimly illuminated IMHO.

I think the "funny angle" of the arm is a trick of the light and shadows altering the apparent shape of her arm at the elbow and shoulder.

Most of the scene is in shadow, but her arm is one of the few bits that's actually in direct sunlight, thus making it blow out on the highlights from such a strong light. I suppose I could have toned that down in post-work, but I'm usually hesitant to do so.
